Bengaluru's pioneering underground air-conditioned market, Palike Bazaar, located in Vijayanagar near the Metro station and bus stand, was unveiled to the public on Sunday. This launch represents the first underground market in South India, said to be inspired by Delhi's Palika Bazaar. In a separate development, the city has greenlit the Tunnel Road project to tackle the persistent traffic issues in Bengaluru. The ambitious plan entails an 18-kilometre twin-tube tunnel stretching from Hebbal Flyover to Central Silk Board Junction, featuring five access points. However, it will be some time before residents can utilize this innovative transport solution.
